HB1011 is Reintroduced for 2026 Session

HB1011 is reintroduced on December 1 at the start of Indiana’s 2026 session. The bill is referred to the Committee on Public Health and received its first reading.

The bill misses the crossover deadline and does not advance.

Bills Do Not Advance

In January, Indiana lawmakers introduced HB1011 and referred to the Committee on Public Health. Two resolutions, HCR0019 and SCR0017, both of which express that the state of Indiana “opposes and condemns assisted suicide.” SCR0017 is passed by the Senate Committee on Health and Provider Services and adopted. The session ends and HB1011, HCR0019, and SCR0017 do not advance.
