Tell the Connecticut Joint Committee on Public Health to SUPPORT HB5625 and OPPOSE HB 5712!

Connecticut has introduced two very different Death with Dignity bills for consideration this session, and we need you to take action NOW!

The first bill, HB 5625, supports Death with Dignity as a legal human right. HB 5625 aims to give terminally ill residents the freedom to choose Death with Dignity as a compassionate end-of-life decision. HB 5625 will bring Connecticut one step closer to joining the 10 jurisdictions where Death with Dignity laws already exist.

The second bill, HB 5712, is against Death with Dignity and is a serious threat. Representative Mark Anderson (R) has introduced HB 5712, a harmful bill requiring that the death certificate of someone who chooses Death with Dignity must list the cause of death as suicide. Death with Dignity is NOT suicide. In every state with a Death with Dignity law, the death certificate accurately lists the patient’s terminal illness—not suicide—as the cause of death.

Take just two minutes and write to the Connecticut Joint Committee on Public Health members and let them know you SUPPORT HB 5625 and OPPOSE HB 5712! Every single voice counts in passing HB 5625 and stopping HB 5712!
